Morocco Trade and Development Services S.A. (MTDS)

Founded in 1993, MTDS is a pioneer in connecting Africans to the Internet; it was the first ISP in Morocco and its engineers were essential to the inauguration of eight Leland Initiative-financed Internet Gateways in Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to its technical know-how, MTDS has been an important player in shaping the IT policy environments in several developing countries both inside and outside Africa through its participation in national IT and E Commerce policy assessments and through its technical assistance for applied technology solutions to numerous private, public, and civil society customers. Because its existence as a viable private sector company depends on it, MTDS is constantly spearheading new solutions and services that lower costs and increase the performance of Internet enabling technologies that meet the particular needs of the African market.
