Inter-American Agency for Cooperation and Development(IACD) Project or Department:Information Technology for Human Development
The IACDs mission is to tap the considerable capabilities of the member and observer states of the Organization of American States (OAS) and forge new private/public-sector partnerships to help the people of the Americas overcome poverty, benefit from the digital revolution and advance their economic and social development. The IACD has developed the Educational Portal of the Americas (www.educaos.org) to connect people throughout the Hemisphere to distance learning opportunities. In addition the Agency is expanding its Rural Connectivity program to provide access to information and educational content to rural populations.
