Full Description: This workshop is a follow-up to a series of conferences organized by APECs e- Security Task Force to prevent cyber crime. After hosting a multilateral conference for experts of the Andean Region on November, 2004, the Government of Peru agreed to have a Bilateral Workshop for Peruvian officials in December 2004. The US Department of Justice asked for dot-GOVs collaboration. The dot- GOV team provided logistical and organizational support to ensure the successful delivery of the workshop by DOJ. Internews provided a sub grant to a Peruvian NGO, Kallpa to assist with on-site logistical issues. Dot-GOV covered the cost of lodging and meals for all workshop participants. Held outside of Lima, the workshop examined the current drafts laws concerning a cyber crime and electronic evidence. The workshop resulted in better communication among Peruvian government offices and also highlighted the perspective of the private sector.
