Full Description: To develop a public-private sector partnership with IBM for the use of technology in early childhood development. This pilot holds great promise for replication in other LAC countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. IBM seeks build a virtual community of educators, and parents who are part of the IBM KidSmart Latin American program using Internet tools to facilitate the communication of experiences and best practices integrating technology into early childhood education.
Last Update: EDC held a design workshop to offer advice and support to the KidSmartPortal Initiative based on EDCs experience with similar initiatives in US andaround the world from August 14-15, 2002 in Lima. This pilot has since been completed.
