Full Description: This regional project is aimed at developing the infrastructure and human resource capacity of three USAID-approved universities in SE Asia by establishing Cisco Academies for the training of IT professionals. dot-GOV paid for the training and Cisco networking equipment which make creation of the Academies possible. These universities include Mahasarakham University (Thailand), Hue University (Vietnam), and Lao American College (Laos).
Update: The Academies at Hue University and Mahasaraskham University are complete and have enrolled students. The Lao Academy lost itÂ’s instructors before the Academy could be initiated; new instructors are being trained in April-May and September-October 2005. The Academy in Laos is expected in launch before during fall 2005.
