Full Description: This pilot project to the Digital Privacy Institute of Center for Democracy and Technology (DPI/CDT) as field support to USAID/Viet Nam helps the ongoing STAR project implemented by DAI, Inc. An e-transactions law is being considered by the Vietnamese government as part of the requirements needed both for the bi- lateral trade agreement with the U.S. and entrance into the World Trade Organization. The e-transactions law contains some e-government provisions. There is now a fourth version of the law under review by the drafting committee.
Update: DPI/CDT will continue to provide technical assistance and participate in a workshop in early summer, 2005.
