SchoolNet Namibia has connected more than 250 schools and related educational institutions such as libraries, teachers' colleges and educational professionals. One school, Onepandaulo Combined School, is located near the border with Angola and serves the educational needs of 600 students in grades 1 through 10. The school is equipped with a computer lab consisting of three refurbished PCs running Linux, Internet via a terrestrial microwave and power from solar photovoltaic cells.

SchoolNet has developed a cookie-cutter photovoltaic setup that is intended to be reused from site to site while the communities await grid electrification. The peak power of the solar array is 1100W. The battery bank has a capacity of 600 Ah at 24 V. The system is charged to 25% DOD (depth of discharge) of the the batteries.
